The new season takes off from where last season left off. Bree identifies Rex's body at the morgue as he has officially died. Bree also gets into a major argument with Rex's mother (guest star Shirley Knight) in a restaurant, over the funeral arragnements. Also, there is a funeral conducted later on. Lynette does job inteviews for ad agencies which go quite well, she later gets a job. Meanwhile, we find out what happens when Mike goes into the house with Zach and Susan waiting for him. Mike and Zach's connection to each other is realized. New Wisteria Lane neighbor Betty Applewhite, a concert pianist has a dark and spooky secret to hide and it is about to be revealed. Kendra's dad died, and she tries to get the autopsy report. In the hospital, Gabrielle is there with a broken arm and a detective is taking a statement. In the end, John ends up in jail, a few cellblocks away from Carlos.

You Could Drive A Person Crazy
One of the housewives is late with her newspaper payments, and gets in a fight with the paperboy. The women become concerned for Bree when they think she's suicidal as she keeps going to different therapists and trying to get as many sleeping pills as possible to cope over Rex. Gabrielle brings cash to a woman in a bad neighborhood, which she ultimately holds on to herself. Lynette settles in at her job, and is being pitched an ad campaign by two young writers. Also, Rex's mother (guest star Shirley Knight) drops by to Wisteria Lane after the funeral and annoys Bree, as she is crying all the time in the restaurant and at the drycleaner.

Get Away From Me
Carlos is ambushed and beaten badly in prison. Gabrielle becomes a suspect when John outs her entire past with him and Carlos about Gabrielle to detectives. Det. Benson eventually reads Gabrielle's Miranda rights and is taken into custody. Gabrielle later on takes a pollygrapgh test and comes to the truth about Carlos and John. Also, Gabrielle has a new gardener, Ralph who has just start mowing her lawn. Both are flurtacious with each other but Gabrielle holds back by trying to keep him out fo the house and to just work.
